Privacy notice

On this page

In short

  • The deadline checker works in your browser. We don’t see or store the dates you enter unless you ask us to email you reminders.
  • We only use analytics cookies if you accept them. We never use advertising cookies.
  • If you sign up for reminders or the waitlist, we keep your email address and the details you chose to share, and use them only to send you what you asked for.
  • You can unsubscribe at any time, and ask us to delete your information.

Who we are

EHCP Badger, 15 Old Printing House Square, Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 9JH, is the data controller for the information described here. We are registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office and will add our registration number here once it is issued.

Contact us about privacy at hello@ehcpbadger.co.uk.

The deadline checker

The checker does its sums in your web browser. The stage and date you enter are not sent to us and are not stored, unless you choose to sign up for email reminders.

If you download a calendar file, it is created on your device. We don’t receive a copy.

Email reminders and the waitlist

If you sign up, we collect:

  • your email address
  • for deadline reminders: the deadline dates the checker worked out, and what each deadline is
  • for the annual review prep pack: your email address, so we can send you the download link. We delete it within 30 days unless you also asked for tips.
  • whether you also asked for occasional tips and new tools (this is optional)

We don’t ask for your name or your child’s name, and we ask you not to include them.

We use this information only to send the reminders or updates you asked for. Our legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by clicking “Stop these reminders” or “unsubscribe” in any email, or by emailing us.

Why the details matter. Knowing your EHCP stage could suggest that your child has special educational needs. We treat this information with extra care, keep only what is needed for your reminders, and never use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, based in France) to send our emails and to hold the waitlist and tips lists. The UK recognises the EU as giving adequate protection to personal data, and Brevo works under a data processing agreement with us. Your reminder dates are kept on our own website, not in Brevo.

Our website is hosted by 20i in the UK.

If you accept statistics cookies, Google provides our visitor statistics (Google Analytics). Google may process this data in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We never sell your information, and we never share it with councils, schools or advertisers.

How long we keep it

  • Deadline reminder details: until your last reminder has been sent or you stop your reminders, then deleted within 30 days.
  • Sign-ups you don’t confirm: deleted after 7 days.
  • Waitlist and updates: until you unsubscribe.
  • Emails you send us: 2 years, so we can help with follow-up questions.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help most. It only sets cookies if you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you click Deny, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive basic signals that a page was viewed, without cookies and without anything that identifies you.

We never use advertising cookies. WordPress also sets cookies if you log in to manage the site.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your information
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • stop using it, or restrict how we use it
  • move it to another service

Email us to use any of these rights. We will reply within 1 month.

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
