Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use EHCP Badger, including parents who are autistic, dyslexic, have ADHD, or have a visual or physical disability.

What we’ve done

Designed to be easy on everyone

A typeface made for reading

We use Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed for readers with low vision.

Calm, clear text

Text is large, left-aligned and well spaced, with no italics or blocks of capital letters.

One thing at a time

Pages follow the same simple layout, and tools ask one question at a time.

Never colour alone

Colour is never the only way we show something. Status always has an icon and a word.

Works your way

The site works with a keyboard, a screen reader and your device’s dark mode.

No surprises

There are no time limits, pop-ups or moving content.

Our standard

WCAG 2.2, level AA

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and test with a keyboard and screen reader.
